Head of Boarding (Girls)

Lead pastoral life across Gayaza’s six boarding houses. The Head of Boarding owns student welfare, prefect development and house-master line management.

Salary: UGX 3.0M – 3.8M / month + accommodation

Reports to: Deputy Head, Pastoral
Team: 6 House Mistresses · 1 Matron

Responsibilities

Line-manage the six House Mistresses and the school Matron.
Lead the safeguarding response and chair weekly pastoral case conferences.
Run the prefect-development programme alongside the Deputy Head Pastoral.
Own the boarding-life handbook revision cycle and the parent briefings each term.
Coordinate the residential Open Day for prospective S1 and S5 girls.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree (any subject), with a recognised teaching qualification.
Senior pastoral leadership experience in a girls’ boarding school.
Demonstrable safeguarding leadership; up-to-date child-protection training.
Willingness to live on campus in the provided three-bedroom accommodation.

Nice to have

Counselling qualification or supervised counselling experience.
