Terms of use.

These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of Praecip, our website, listings, dashboards and related services (together, the Platform). By browsing or using the Platform you agree to these terms. If you are using the Platform on behalf of a school or organisation, you confirm you are authorised to accept these terms for it.

If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the Platform.

Praecip is a discovery and comparison platform that helps families find, compare and contact schools across Uganda. We are an independent guide. We are not a school, an examinations board, a government agency, or an agent acting for any school.

• We do not run admissions, set fees, award places, or make enrolment decisions, those belong entirely to each school.
• A listing on Praecip is not an endorsement, accreditation, or guarantee of any school, and the presence or absence of a school does not reflect on its quality.
• Any rankings, ratings or editorial we publish are our own opinion, formed in good faith; they are described on the pages where they appear and are open to correction.

You may browse most of the Platform without an account. Some features, such as a school dashboard or saved shortlists, may require you to register. Where you create an account, you agree to provide accurate information and to keep your login credentials secure. You are responsible for activity that happens under your account.

The Platform is intended for adults. If you are under 18, please use it only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

When you use the Platform, you agree not to:

• break any law, or infringe the rights of a school, person or third party;
• post content that is false, defamatory, misleading, harassing, hateful or obscene, or that impersonates a school or person;
• scrape, harvest, or systematically copy listings or data except as expressly permitted, or attempt to bypass any access controls;
• upload malware, probe or disrupt the Platform, or place unreasonable load on our infrastructure;
• use the Platform to send spam or unsolicited commercial messages.

We may suspend or remove access, and remove content, that we reasonably believe breaches these terms.

School information on Praecip is compiled from schools themselves, publicly available sources, and our own research. We work to keep it accurate, but we cannot guarantee that every detail, fees, programmes, contact details, results or availability, is complete or up to date at the moment you read it.

Always confirm the details that matter directly with the school before making a decision, a payment, or travelling to a campus. If you spot something wrong on a listing, please tell us and we will look into it.

For schools

A school that claims or manages its profile is responsible for the content it submits, and confirms it has the right to publish that content. We may verify, edit for clarity, or decline material, and we may display the source or verification status of information on a profile.

Where the Platform lets you submit content, a review, comment, correction or message, you keep ownership of what you write, but you grant Praecip a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to host, display, adapt and distribute it as part of operating the Platform.

You are responsible for your submissions and confirm they are your honest experience or opinion and do not breach anyone’s rights. We may moderate, decline or remove submissions, but we do not undertake to review everything that is posted.

The Platform, including its design, text, graphics, the Praecip name and logo, and our rankings and editorial, is owned by Praecip or its licensors and is protected by intellectual-property laws. School names, logos and marks belong to their respective owners and are used to identify those schools.

You may view and share links to our pages for personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, republish or commercially exploit our content without our written permission.

The Platform links to schools and other third-party websites and services we do not control. We provide these links for convenience and are not responsible for the content, practices or availability of those third parties. Your dealings with a school or any third party, including any application, payment or contract, are solely between you and them.

The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Praecip disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that the information on it is accurate or fit for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Praecip will not be liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any decision you make in reliance on information found on the Platform. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

We are building Praecip actively, so features may change, pause or be withdrawn. We may also update these terms from time to time. When we make a material change we will update the date at the top of this page, and significant changes may be highlighted on the Platform. Your continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Uganda, and the courts of Uganda have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them or from your use of the Platform, without affecting any mandatory consumer protections available to you under local law.
