Uganda gains new schools every year, and most are forgettable, a rented building, a borrowed syllabus and a hopeful signboard. A few open differently, with experienced leadership, real capital behind the classrooms, and a clear idea of the gap in the market they intend to fill.
We looked at recent entrants that arrived with a plan rather than a prayer. The promising ones recruited a known head, resourced a genuine specialism from day one, and were honest about being new rather than inflating a track record they could not have. Newcomers are a gamble for any parent, but the better ones telegraph their seriousness early.
